What are TOD files
TOD files are videos captured by a JVC Everio video camera, such as the GZ-HD3 and GZ-HD7; saved in a proprietary format that can be viewed using the Cyberlink software included with JVC video cameras.
The JVC TOD cameras:
2007: GZ-HD7 (HDD, SD / SDHC), GZ-HD3 (HDD, SD / SDHC)
Marzec 2008: GZ-HD5 (HDD, karta MicroSDHC), GZ-HD6 (HDD, karta MicroSDHC)
Czerwiec 2008: GZ-HD30, GZ-HD40 (HDD, karta microSDHC, dwa TOD i AVCHD nagrania)
Mac TOD cropper
JVC was the only supporter of TOD format and only a limited programs support TOD files on Mac, such as Apple iMovie HD, Adobe Flash CS5 and Squared 5 MPEG Streamclip. Therefore, it's even more difficult to edit the TOD videos. This Mac TOD cropper is a perfect and easy to use software which can import TOD files and export to other common formats like AVI, MPG, WMV, MP4, FLV, MOV, 3GP, 3G2, SWF, DV, MKV so that you can import them to Imovie or iTunes.
The most important is that the Mac TOD cropper can adjust the aspect ratio to 16:9, 4:3 or full screen to adapt to different player. And it can crop out the black bars to resize the screen. In addition, it can take snapshots and save as JPG, BMP, PNG to grab the beautiful scenes.
How to crop TOD files on Mac OS?
Download and run the Mac TOD cropper.
Import the TOD files
Click Add Files button to import the files.
Crop the files
In the Crop field next to the preview window, there are 4 boxes. You can crop the files by inserting a specific number in each boxes. Or you can drag the dashed frame to resize the crop area.
Adjust the aspect ratio
In the Zoom area in the bottom of the window, there are 3 aspect ratio available in the drop down list.
Set tht output formats
In the Profile area under Zoom, there are many output formats. You can choose one in the drop down list.
Click the Start button to start crop.
