Comparison between MOV and RM
MOV was originally developed by Apple as a file format for its QuickTime movie player. The MOV format presented a lot of advantages that are quite usable to everyday use but the proprietary nature of the MOV format was a major hindrance.
RM is a basic UNIX command used to remove objects such as files, directories, device nodes, symbolic links, and so on from the filesystem. generally only seen on UNIX-derived operating systems, rm removes references to objects from the file system.
- Summary:
- 1.Both MOV and RM are lossy formats which sacrifices quality for file size
- 2.MOV was initially developed by Apple as a file format for QuickTime
- 3.MOV works better and has more widespread support than RM for streaming video
- 4.Saving your file to either MOV or RM would result in the same video if you use the same codec
