MTS is a file extension of AVCHD, i.e. Advanced Video Codec High Definition, specially created for HD camcorders. This file format is joint developed by Sony and Panasonic, and now many HD camcorders shoot video as this format such as Canon(HF10/HF11/HF200 etc), JVC,Sony, Panasonic (HDC-HS200/DMC-GH1 etc).
