How to import file both audio and video to sony vegas 10?

First, let us read the problem from many friends:

1: I'm using Sony Vegas 10 and I cant import a particular AVI file. When I try, no video shows up, no audio shows up.Is there anyway to import or do i have to convert? Thanks in advance, J.

2: I downloaded the DIVX codec and it imported the video AVI file but it didn't get the audio into sony vegas and I tried Virtualdub and that didn't work either please help.

3: I have over 200 AVI files that I want to edit them with Vegas 10, Most are divx, a few are xvid, However, I can't even import divx files into Vegas! Only the audio content is shown in the timeline.

To solve these problem, our friends also do much work:

1: some of them installed the Divx 5.x codec and verify with GSpot that the avi files I'm trying to work with are indeed divx, but failed, re-install the Divx codec, no use. About this, someone think may 64-bit version of Vegas Pro 10 not work, but the 32-bit will do, just for 64-bit version of those codecs which probably don't exist.

2: others think may be your audio is an Xvid encoded avi file with vbr mp3. audio and a lot of programs like Vegas have problems with VBR MP3 audio - either they won't play it at all, or they produce incorrect timings and sync problems. He think vbr mp3. audio needs to be extracted and converted to uncompressed .wav.

In fact, Sony Vegas Pro10 now says can support many formats video, like AA3, AAF, AIF, ASF, AU, AVI, BMP, BWF, CDA, DIG, DLX, DPX, DV, EXR, FLAC, GIF, HDP, IVC, JPG, M2T, MOV, Sony MXF, MP3, MP4, M4A, MPEG-2 video, OGG, OMA, PCA, PNG, PSD, QT, R3D, SFA, SND, SWF, TIFF, TGA, VOX, W64, WAV, WDP, WMA, WMV. However, any problem not really solved , just like above.
