First off, download and install the Mac Audio Converter. Launch the program, and then you can directly drag and drop the source WMA files to it. All imported files will be displayed on the interface.

Tips: On the lower right of each imported file's thumbnail, there's blue "i" icon. Click the icon, then you can retrieve/edit/add metadata such as genre, artist, album, etc. to the audio file for a better iTunes management.

Step 2 Set Output Format & Launch the Conversion

Hit the "Profile" menu bar to open the output format list. As for playing music in iPhone, the best formats are MP3 and AAC, so you can choose either of them as the output profile.

If needed, you can press the "Settings" button next to the "Profile" bar to adjust the detailed output audio parameters. Besides, you can also trim or split the audio files with ease.

Thereafter, simply click the "Start" button to launch the conversion, and then connect your iPhone to Mac and transfer the converted files to it for smoothly playback.

Method 2: For Windows Users

In fact, iTunes for Windows has enabled users to convert WMA to iTunes AAC for playback on iPhone, iPad, etc. It is certain that if you can import the audio files to iTunes, you are able to transfer them to iPhone on Windows, here is how:

1) Launch iTunes, go to "File" and choose "Add file to library" toadd your .WMA files to the program. Then you will get this notice from iTunes:

2) Hit Convert , then the iTunes will start transcoding WMA to MP3 automatically.

3) The generated items will be added to the iTunes music library after the WMA to iTunes MP3 conversion is finished. To play these songs on your iPhone, you just need to connect your iPhone to your computer and sync the files to it as usual.

Special Note: If the WMA files are from Zune, Nokia Ovi or some other media centers which are probably DRM protected, you need to make them DRM-free first before conversion.
