The original edition Adobe Encore was called Adobe Encore DVD 1.0, a relatively more professional tool to make DVD l. The second edition was Adobe Encore DVD 1.5, the third edition Adobe Encore 2.0. Later version was CS3. As Adobe's innovative suite of tools, CS series have been popular for a long time.
The Encore, which came to the third edition, was not simply to produce DVD, which contains high-definition Blu-ray Disc compiled and burning capabilities, as well as Adobe proud Flash code output. Therefore, Encore began to be used as a single name till now, namely, Adobe Encore CS4. When the version comes to CS4, its functions are further enhanced, for example, setting flash is more complicated, added Blu-ray Disc unique pop-up menu design, can import directly DVD even when Premiere Pro does not start.
Adobe Encore is completely independent software in the past, but after CS3 began, Adobe classified it to Premiere Pro's assembly, because of the abolition of the DVD encode, design and burning integration during Premiere Pro 2.0 era. Encore has become the Premiere' s essential output component, but its more professional and perfect designing features, relatively more independent structure make it can run separately as well.
Adobe Encore has a limit on support of video file formats. For example, Adobe Encore CS5 supports AVI, MPEG Video (.264, .avc, .mpg, .mpeg, .m2t, .mpe, .mpv, .m2v, .m2s, .mts, .m2ts, .m2p, .m4v, .mp4), Flash Video, MXF, QuickTime MOV, WMV; Adobe Encore CS3 supports AVI, QuickTime MOV, MPEG-2 video (elementary and program streams: .mpg, .mpeg, .mpe, .mpv, .m2v, .m2s, .m2p, .m2t), MPEG-4 (only supports MPEG-4 encoded with H.264 codec), WMV, and some VOB. So, if you want to import videos like MKV, XAVC, MOV that is not QuickTime type, MPEG-1, MOD, TOD, 3GP (H.263), RMVB, RM, and AVI which is not encoded by the codecs supported by Encore (AVI is a container format that can be encoded with various codecs), you might suffer trouble importing them into the program. If you are fond of this program and don't want to turn to other similar programs to solve the video incompatible issue, you might as well consider converting the unsupported video to Encore supported format first.
