Windowss Media Player

Windows Media Player is used for playing audio, video and viewing images on personal computers running the Microsoft Windows operating system, as well as on Pocket PC and Windows Mobile-based devices.

Application Description

Windows Media Player 10 is the all-in-one media player that provides the best experience for discovering, playing and taking your digital entertainment anywhere--on Windows XP PCs and the widest choice of portable devices.

Windows Media Player 11 offers great new ways to store and enjoy all of your digital media. It's easier than ever to access all of your music, video, pictures, and recorded TV on your computer. Windows Media Player 11 is designed to work with all editions of Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2), and can also be used to restore Windows Media Player and related technologies to N and KN editions of Windows Vista.

Windows Media Player 12 is the latest version of Microsoft's official media player, which comes bundled with Windows 7. It's not that different from version 11 – except for some slight changes in design – but if, like me, you haven't used Windows Media Player for a while, you'll be surprised to find a full multimedia suite with which you can not only listen to your favorite bands, but also view pictures, watch videos, rip and burn CDs, sync with mobile devices and even buy music online.

Windows Media Player Video Playback Problem

Windows Media Player 12 adds native support for H.264 and MPEG-4 Part 2 video formats, 3GP, MP4 and MOV container formats. Windows Media Player 12 is also able to play AVCHD formats (.M2TS and .mts). But sometimes it still fails to play MOV container format which could be encoded with unsupported codecs by WMP 12. Or if you want to play MOD, XAVC, etc which are not supported by no matter WMP 12 or other version of WMP, you will also suffer only failure. To playback those unrecognized video formats on WMP, you can convert the videos to WMP supported formats. If you are not that crazy about WMP, you can change a different video player.
