DV uses intraframe compression. Each compressed frame depends entirely on itself, and not on any data from preceding or following frames.
Cons	Since it is a container format with different codecs, it might not be able to playback on media players and editing software even they claims to be able to play MOV.	It doesn't have a very good compatibility with most video editor software and media players.
