MOV VS HD Video
Comparsion between MOV and HD Video
MOV was originally developed by Apple as a file format for its QuickTime movie player. The MOV format presented a lot of advantages that are quite usable to everyday use but the proprietary nature of the MOV format was a major hindrance.
High-definition video or HD video refers to any video system of higher resolution than standard-definition (SD) video, and most commonly involves display resolutions of 1,280×720 pixels (720p) or 1,920×1,080 pixels (1080i/1080p).
- Summary:
- 1. Both MOV and HD Video are lossy formats which sacrifices quality for file size
- 2. MOV was initially developed by Apple as a file format for QuickTime
- 3. MOV works better and has more widespread support than HD Video for streaming video
- 4. Saving your file to either MOV or HD Video would result in the same video if you use the same codec
